Our goal at Open Road is to find shipping solutions for our community and others like it. We’re knowledgeable about the real-life problems businesses encounter when shipping, problems we are here to solve.
The Open Road Story
The idea for Open Road was sparked in late 2014. We realized there was a severe lack of shipping options for small and midsize businesses. The current systems were simply not designed for B2B mid-mile trucking. Our friends and family who owned small businesses were facing constant delivery delays for equipment and materials—delays that ultimately cost those businesses time and money.
The idea that technology could bridge the gap and connect shippers with small businesses was only half the problem. Finding a solution for the drivers and trucks was another vital piece of the puzzle. The answer centered on the most popular vehicle sold in America every year: the Ford F150.
With around 1 million trucks produced annually, the market could create a sustainable, expedient delivery system for less-than-truckload shipments and prevent project delays for the benefit of the shipper, receiver, and driver.

Nestled at an elevation of 5,200 feet above sea level, and about an hour and a half drive from Phoenix, Prescott, AZ is closely connected to expanding suburban and still-rural communities. We know that the shipping logistics problems here mirror those in towns and cities all across the country. Small business and independent drivers are integral to these communities. Open Road is here for all of them.
